little house on the prairie on acid.

heart tit leotard- crack vintage
pink & purple pioneer skirt- milk + honey

I acquired this outfit at the Milk + Honey event this past Saturday. I traded two framed collages for this amazing dip dyed heart tit leotard! My pal Os just started up a boutique specializing in cool vintage pieces with modern embellishments as well as his own hand made jewelry. His site isn't up and running yet, but you can check out his instagram: "osespino" to stay updated on his stock.

Ashley traded this skirt in exchange for a poem, completing my new look which we collectively decided to call "little house on the prairie on acid." There's nothing like some solid bartering... goods for goods, a mutual exchange of cool.

Oh, for those of you interested and local, tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 24) I will be setting up my pop up poem store at Bowl Cafe in Montrose. If you've never been its a sweet little sandwich/salad/drink spot on Richmond with a cool vibe and the cutest counter staff you've ever seen. (my girl steph runs that joint, duhhh) Come out and enjoy dinner and drink specials and snag a custom poem while you dine.

milk + honey.

boots- melrose trading post

This Saturday I had an amazing time at the Milk + Honey Vintage fall fashion event. Ashley Cid, the owner of this killer online boutique has an affection for dress up and play, and events like this weekend's are really where she shines. Ashley opened up her gorgeous, airy Montrose home for an afternoon of maximum girlyness. The perfect host, she provided plenty of vintage for dress up and sale, fall themed cakes, a steady wine flow, vibey jams, a sectioned off dressing room complete with lounging sofa, hair and makeup styling with every purchase and the best selfie mirror you've ever seen. Her dear pal and photographer VJ was there to snap some pictures of the babes in their new duds. (how amazing are these shots he took for me???)  I met a lot of cool women while selling poems and art and was grateful for the mingling experience. Recently back in Houston, its nice to be surrounded by so many like minded, go-getter women.

I wore my absolutely perfect Milk + Honey Vintage dress. (duh) The cotton is that real old thin good kinda soft and I have never been more in love with such a darling piece of fabric. My mom even cried when she saw me in the dress before heading to the event. Ya hear that people, Ashley's vintage moves mothers to tears! I highly recommend you check out her online shop and if you're a Houston local, stay tuned for more cool events like this. Ashley's always got something cooking under that dandelion fluff of hers.

Here are a few shots from the event!

backyard babiez.

horse sweater- h&m
boots- melrose trading post

It rained today. Living in LA makes you forget about weather. But the sky opened up and it rained over Texas, all morning and into the afternoon and early evening. The sun came out first in the suburbs and dried up all the rain. On the drive into Houston I could just make out a watered down rainbow straddling the freeway out ahead of me. I'm feeling that weird spring to fall I hate everything in my wardrobe phase right now but this horse sweater is pretty much the perfect remedy.
Oh, the other dog is Sully, my parents pup/Carl's BFF, obviously.
