patterned crop top- for sale at milk + honey vintage
lady aladdin pants- jean greige hand me downs

Here's a better look at the britches from last post, paired with this patterned little milk + honey vintage cropped number, which is for sale!!!! (check milk + honey's instagram: milkhoneyvintage) I love this top...its like if medical scrubs came in really cool alternative cuts and stylezzz. I took a page from my best pal Steph and went a little "loud ass pattern on loud ass pattern" to hang with my lady gang the other night. My work dress code tries to keep me down so this is really me just acting out off the clock. Also I wanted to show you guys some everyday poses in some everyday clothes...natural and true. I am good model, no?

derp queen, great job! super model, sex appeal baby.

lets fill the garage with spaghetti

i'm tired of waiting tables.
lets fill the garage with spaghetti
and lose our heads
we'll lose our heads--
the noodles
we learned how to make in the fall
are a pile on the counter
are a pile on the counter.
you've dropped your fork
four hundred times
in only the last hour
and who will fold my napkin
when i'm gone?

wallflowers

Wallflowers

photography: VJ Arizpe
hair/makeup: Kim Haro
wardrobe: Milk + Honey Vintage
styling: Ashley Cid
collage/poetry: Traci Lavois

Had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with milk + honey vintage  on their newest lookbook, Wallflowers  See the whole lookbook here!

As I write this post, I am sitting in Ashley's apartment. To my right,  a lit up Christmas tree, to my left, that fuckin girl, prancing around in pasties and a tutu like the most perfect thing you've ever see. Forgive the gushing that will follow, I'm all Christmas light washed in warm good babe town fuzzies.

Ashley has quickly become one of my dearest Houston comrades.  She's the kinda girl who drives you to a parking garage rooftop to bare your breasts to the skyline in the middle of the night. She flips off the security cameras and laughs like a child. Professionally she is sharp, insightful and creative.  I really believe in her company and the milk honey product.  Ashley's vision for this shoot was beautiful and it was really kinda magical to be apart of... the warm light, the dresses, the perfect interior, and of course our angel faced model, Kelso

Check out the full lookbook and shop Milk+Honey for the holidays!

you come from day old flour.

Isn't the collar on this jacket just everything? I borrowed it from my ma. Mrs. Thiebaud's got some sweet school lady style. I believe its a Gap number. I really should just go ahead and get rid of these tights. They are so saggy and loose and ripped to shit and no longer do that magical thing a new fresh pair of tights can do which is hold up and squeeze in all that good thigh meat. Like a fine sausage casing. I need all the help I can get managing my leg girth.  These back in Texas home cooked meals are starting to show. But really who fucken cares, just more warmth for winter.

Spent my day off with some of my favorite people, both human and canine. I had one of those rare and fleeting moments of euphoria driving through the heights today. Light Leaves by WHY? came on and the sky was this amazing gradient from yellow to orange to pink to blue and an airplane leaving Bush Intercontinental was streaking its way through all the up there, painting jet trails above an unruly lawn, overgrown urban jungle and three wild headed babies on bikes and trikes and razor scooters zooming through it all while Yoni sang about his sperm dying in the sewer of Cincinnati.

Currently I am listening to The Drums and conjuring up text poem nonsense and strung together silliness with my Alabama baby, SallyCat. We wrote matching angsty biscuit poems. This may be the first biscuit-centric thing I've ever written with a negative connotation. I just love the word so damn much.

you are a stale old biscuit
i liked your brother better
he was fresh and warm
and fluffy good
i buttered him in morning light.
you taste of chalk
you come from
day old flour
been sitting on your mother's counter
and dirtying her apron.
i don't want
to fuck
your biscuit ass
again.

denim day off

sweater- thrifted
denim jacket- vintage bugle boy
jeans- thrifted
purse- gift from ashley

My last post boasted of a curly headed and unemployed little dirtbag, and wouldja look at me now, folks? Fresh new chop and a J-O-B. I'm slinging burgers and beers at Lowbrow in Montrose these days...if you're a local you should swing by sometime. I have some really cool collaborations with Milk + Honey Vintage in the works which I cannot wait to share with you guys! It's slowly piecing together here and it feels good. Steph and I snapped these pictures on my day off yesterday. We bopped around town running errands and scored some sweet $3 treasures at some shady family thrift mart in the heights. We also ate Cici's pizza with more efficiency, speed and disgusting pleasure than has ever been displayed in buffet history. (we were in a time crunch, but the beast bitch bellies prevailed)

It's getting less and less surreal everyday. Being back in Texas. I've already met so many inspiring individuals and am hopeful for the creative potential of this city and the street rat babies I've met in it. There's so much more sky out here. Guess that comes from the flat. The geography. I miss the California hills and the coast but this Texas shit ain't so bad. Plenty of room to fan out in all directions, to flail and flip and fly and stretch fingers up to grab something good.

Hope winter finds you all well, my few faithful followers.

its fall now and my nose is runnin something fierce
i've taken to this coughing croaking caw caw caw
like a colick sick baby dragon, the fire's all gone
in the morning, i wake, cold and hungover
spit out all the night before,
then piss what i can't hack,
brush my tongue of the rest and try to find a job or something.

little house on the prairie on acid.

heart tit leotard- crack vintage
pink & purple pioneer skirt- milk + honey

I acquired this outfit at the Milk + Honey event this past Saturday. I traded two framed collages for this amazing dip dyed heart tit leotard! My pal Os just started up a boutique specializing in cool vintage pieces with modern embellishments as well as his own hand made jewelry. His site isn't up and running yet, but you can check out his instagram: "osespino" to stay updated on his stock.

Ashley traded this skirt in exchange for a poem, completing my new look which we collectively decided to call "little house on the prairie on acid." There's nothing like some solid bartering... goods for goods, a mutual exchange of cool.

Oh, for those of you interested and local, tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 24) I will be setting up my pop up poem store at Bowl Cafe in Montrose. If you've never been its a sweet little sandwich/salad/drink spot on Richmond with a cool vibe and the cutest counter staff you've ever seen. (my girl steph runs that joint, duhhh) Come out and enjoy dinner and drink specials and snag a custom poem while you dine.

milk + honey.

boots- melrose trading post

This Saturday I had an amazing time at the Milk + Honey Vintage fall fashion event. Ashley Cid, the owner of this killer online boutique has an affection for dress up and play, and events like this weekend's are really where she shines. Ashley opened up her gorgeous, airy Montrose home for an afternoon of maximum girlyness. The perfect host, she provided plenty of vintage for dress up and sale, fall themed cakes, a steady wine flow, vibey jams, a sectioned off dressing room complete with lounging sofa, hair and makeup styling with every purchase and the best selfie mirror you've ever seen. Her dear pal and photographer VJ was there to snap some pictures of the babes in their new duds. (how amazing are these shots he took for me???)  I met a lot of cool women while selling poems and art and was grateful for the mingling experience. Recently back in Houston, its nice to be surrounded by so many like minded, go-getter women.

I wore my absolutely perfect Milk + Honey Vintage dress. (duh) The cotton is that real old thin good kinda soft and I have never been more in love with such a darling piece of fabric. My mom even cried when she saw me in the dress before heading to the event. Ya hear that people, Ashley's vintage moves mothers to tears! I highly recommend you check out her online shop and if you're a Houston local, stay tuned for more cool events like this. Ashley's always got something cooking under that dandelion fluff of hers.

Here are a few shots from the event!

backyard babiez.

horse sweater- h&m
boots- melrose trading post

It rained today. Living in LA makes you forget about weather. But the sky opened up and it rained over Texas, all morning and into the afternoon and early evening. The sun came out first in the suburbs and dried up all the rain. On the drive into Houston I could just make out a watered down rainbow straddling the freeway out ahead of me. I'm feeling that weird spring to fall I hate everything in my wardrobe phase right now but this horse sweater is pretty much the perfect remedy.
Oh, the other dog is Sully, my parents pup/Carl's BFF, obviously.
